Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. The Greek Encyclopedia (www.elpedia.gr) uses them for the secure operation of the website, for statistical measurement and for displaying advertisements, always in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679), Greek Law 3471/2006 and Greek Law 4624/2019.
Categories of cookies
Strictly necessary. These are needed for the website to load securely, to protect it against malicious automated programs and to record your consent choices. They cannot be disabled.
Statistics (Google Analytics). These collect aggregated, anonymous traffic data, so that we can improve the content and the language versions of the website. They are activated only with your consent.
Advertising (Google AdSense). These make it possible to display advertisements, measure their performance, limit how often they appear and, if you have agreed to it, personalize them according to your interests.
Your consent
On your first visit, a consent management tool is displayed, through which you accept or reject optional cookies, either all together or by category. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time from the cookie management tool at the bottom of the website. Cookies can also be deleted or blocked in your browser settings, although some features may then not work properly.
Third-party cookies
Cookies from the Google Analytics and Google AdSense services are placed and managed by Google, in accordance with its own privacy policy, which also provides the necessary safeguards for data transfers outside the European Economic Area. You can find out more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
For the processing of personal data more generally, see the Privacy Policy.
